The product
What is CanisWell Skin + Coat?
A daily soft chew that supports normal skin and coat condition in dogs. It is a supplement for supplemental feeding, not a medicine. The formula is led by marine omega-3 (EPA and DHA) and also contains pumpkin seed, coconut oil, zinc, biotin and vitamins A, E and B6.
What is in it, and how much of each?
Per daily serving of 2 chews (5 g): EPA 72 mg, DHA 48 mg, pumpkin seed 200 mg, coconut oil 30 mg, zinc 5 mg elemental (as 25 mg zinc glycinate), biotin 400 mcg, vitamin E 30 IU as natural d-alpha-tocopherol, vitamin A 160 IU, vitamin B6 0.3 mg. That is the complete list, with no proprietary blends.
There is also no combined "total omega-3" figure standing in for the individual numbers. Why we publish all of them.
How many chews does my dog get?
Two chews a day, for every dog, whatever their size. The serving is flat rather than scaled by weight, so there is no chart to read. Give with or after a meal.
A flat serving also means there is no risk of mis-dosing a small dog. The chew can be broken into pieces.
What is the difference between the chicken and salmon chews?
Only the flavor. The nine actives and their amounts are identical in both. The salmon chew is made without chicken. Both use the same marine oil for EPA and DHA.
So choose salmon if you would rather keep chicken out of the bowl.
Is it suitable for puppies and senior dogs?
It is formulated for dogs of all ages and sizes. Speak to your veterinarian before starting any supplement if your dog is very young, pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or has a medical condition.
How long should I give it before deciding whether it suits my dog?
Skin and coat condition changes gradually. Most dog parents give it consistently for four to six weeks before assessing. Individual dogs vary.
Quality and testing
Is CanisWell third-party tested?
The formula has been tested by SGS, an independent laboratory, covering heavy metals, microbial safety and a 315-item pesticide screen. Batch certificates of analysis will be published as production batches are tested.
We are pre-launch, so there are none to show yet. What we think "third-party tested" should mean.
Where is it manufactured?
In a facility registered with the FDA and operating to cGMP under 21 CFR Part 507, with NSF and ISO 9001 certification. Registration with the FDA is a requirement for food and feed facilities; it is not an FDA endorsement of the product, and we do not present it as one.
Do you publish oxidation values for the marine oil?
Not yet, and we will not publish them until we have measured results from a real batch. Peroxide value, anisidine value and TOTOX are the three figures that show whether a marine oil is still fresh, and almost nobody in this category publishes them. Why those three numbers matter.
Is CanisWell vet-formulated?
No, and we do not use that phrase. An independent formulation review is being arranged; until it is complete, claiming it would not be true.
We would rather tell you what is unfinished than let you assume otherwise.
Claims
What does the product actually do?
It supports healthy skin, a normal skin barrier, normal moisture balance in the skin, and a soft, shiny coat. It is a supplement, not a medicine: it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and we will not write copy implying otherwise. If your dog has a diagnosed condition, work with your veterinarian.
Why are there no before-and-after photos or reviews on this site?
Before-and-after photos imply treatment of a condition, which is a claim we do not make. As for reviews: we have not launched, so no one has bought the product yet. When reviews appear they will be from verified buyers who were not paid or incentivised to leave them.
Ordering and delivery
How much does CanisWell Skin + Coat cost?
$34.99 for a 60-chew jar, which is a 30-day supply. Shipping is free on orders over $35.
What is your refund policy?
If your dog will not eat it, contact us within 30 days and we will refund you. You do not need to send the jar back.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place away from heat and direct light, resealed after each use. Marine oil degrades faster when it is warm, so a garage, a car or a sunny windowsill is a poor choice.
